Surface area and length affect how much force it takes to unscrew

Typically fasteners have a 30-35% surface contact. Total surface contact is much stronger. The length of a Van Cor Thread is related to the surface area; it can be increased or decreased to change the amount of surface contact.
Changing the period and/or amplitude on the wave thread also changes the amout of surface contact. Changing the height and width of all Van Cor Threads changes the surface area. Wave threads can have threads nested inside of threads to increase the surface area.
The amount of torque to unscrew a thread of a specific material is a design function such as a storage container that needs to be opened by an average person.
An early model of a 3D printed 8" pipe connection that was hand tightened required two men with strap wrenches to unscrew.
